More blog construction today, don’t mind the mess

Blog makeover update

Just realized that the theme I’ve been playing with doesn’t seem to have a way to go to the next page,so any tags or links that are clicked will only return results from the past couple of months. Sorry for the inconvenience; will fix it shortly.

Because I’m also obsessed with American Horror Story (possible s3 spoilers?)

Blog Makeover

I realized it would be easier to just change this URL, so the migration won’t actually happen. The URL change will, however. In the meantime, I’m going to be revamping how this thing looks. Over the next few days, don’t mind the page’s awkwardness.

A Lobdell cameo

Remember that survey I conducted months ago amongst female-identified DC fans? As some of you know, the results of it were incorporated into a conference paper, which is currently being rewritten as an article solicited for an academic journal.

That mean little incident between Scott Lobdell and comics reviewer Chifuyu is getting mentioned in a section on the hostility of some of DC’s staff toward female fans. I’m inserting it now.

Fun fact: At the conference, one of the speakers turned out to actually be friends with a DC writer whom she couldn’t name. She confirmed for the audience, after I presented, that DC actively prohibits writers from making progressive changes to female characters or including women in certain stories.

DC, sorry to have to give you such a rough treatment in a publication that media scholars all over the world read, but you earned it, baby.

(Yes, I spy on the fandom for research purposes. Since a lot of people have been curious, I had over 1000 survey responses. Sadly, only a few can be included in the article, but once the article is out, I’ll be able to post some of the others on here, because they were brilliant.)

While I’ve been aware of “Call Me Maybe” since it was new, I’ve never actually heard it until today. I have, however, heard “Batman Maybe” a gajillion times, so I insist that that one was the original.

If it’s not obvious, I’ve decided to start greeting my new followers because everyone else does it and I feel very rude for not doing it myself.

A personal blog rises.

I’ve made a personal blog (attached to this one) for posting stuff that doesn’t relate to Talia AND for rambling about writing. Since it links to stuff I’ve written, as well as to my actual full name, I’m not linking it right here, but if any of my followers would like to see/follow it, let me know by either replying to/liking this post or via PM and I’ll send you the URL for the personal blog.

Emerging from my “Second Cold of the Semester Oh My God My Students Are Trying To Kill Me Or Something” nap to say that I have just discovered the Dourif Tuesday tag.

YES GOOD.

My immune system and England do not get along.

Who’s sick again?

Yayyyyyy.

Awkward.

When exhaustion makes you too lazy to bring up the window with your roleplay account, so instead you just message people from your fanblog.

If there are any other requests, let me know.
