coming up next on the FOX network: shirtless sword fighting with Batman and Ra’s al Ghul

You know it’s not a proper swordfight ‘til the shirts come off.

Anonymous asked: I understand the logic behind wanting to kill most of the world, but why does Ra's have a personal cruzade agaisnt shirts?

Once, when the man who would take the title “Ra’s al Ghul” was just a little boy, his mother sent him out to gather the laundry she’d hung outside. Just as the small child reached to grab a shirt off the line, a strong wind blew, causing the shirt to smack him in the face.

He never forgot the indignity of that moment.

XD

I’ve seen this tagged as Talia, but it’s actually Mysterious Hand Lady, aka Mysterious Hood Lady, who calls herself Ra’s al Ghul’s sister. The name was coined on CBR and, IIRC, actually did make it into the comics at some point. I don’t have the issue with me at the moment to confirm. Whether she’s Ra’s’s biological sister or means it in a metaphorical way is unknown.
However, despite not being Talia, MHL was cool in her own right. The reveal of her  face was awesome.
On another note, hey there, sexy Ra’s. When I was still posting regularly on CBR, Chris Yost (the author of Red Robin #12, the comic from which this page is taken), posted that he felt sure I would enjoy that issue. I did indeed. Not only was it effin’ awesome, but it also ended with shirtless Ra’s in all his shirtless glory.

Welcome to the DCnU, Ra’s!

It’s a little early, but….

Batman Inc 2 preview

It looks like this issue will go into Talia’s background. I might have to check this one out.

There is an interview with Morrison here about this so check it out.

Here it is in order!

forever shirtless ;)

Shirtless Ra’s is one of my all-time favorite comic book tropes. And let’s be honest here - the man is smoking hot. I demand more shirtless Ra’s in the DCnU.

Batman #683

This sums up all of Batman for me.

Oh hi there, shirtless Ra’s! Oh, and you have your own Robin now too!

Josh Pence

I literally know nothing about Josh Pence except that he’s playing Ra’s al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises and he bears a great facial resemblance to Liam Neeson.

Having finally looked up some info and more pictures of him, I see that he seems to share Ra’s al Ghul’s deep hatred of shirts. Seriously, does he ever wear a shirt? I bet this means we’re getting a shirtless Ra’s in the movie.

Oh hi there, shirtless Ra’s! Good morning to you too!

Good morning, sexy Ra’s! Why yes, I am tempted to jump in the Lazarus pit with you.
