Talia won’t have any more of your shit, Bruce (and you too, Ra’s)
One of my favorite Talia moments in anything ever.
Because it’s true.

too much free time.
My Feelings is one of my all-time favorite authors.
Wow.
Nyssa’s death is just… wow.
#did they really want to get rid of her so bad that they give her a quick death? #da fuq
Such a great idea. Let’s take this character who survived the Holocaust, killed Ra’s al Ghul, took his title, and ruled the League of Assassins…. and have her appear in one page of Robin for no discernible reason whatsoever so we can car bomb her. Nice one, DC.
ONE FREAKING PAGE. Her relationship with Talia and Ra’s had so much more potential and then *poof DC is like nope sorry

I’m convinced it was because they were gearing up for the Resurrection crossover and wanted her swept under the rug in order to bring Ra’s back — you know, as opposed to using Ra’s’ return for a great character arc for them both.
it would have been so great to see the both of them interacting after his return. WHY DC?
I know, right? The family drama that would have ensued would have been beautiful to read. Ra’s and Nyssa would have had to deal with their (very understandable, on Nyssa’s part) issues with each other, and Talia would have had to deal with what Nyssa did to her. I’m sure Dusan and perhaps even Damian would have been affected in some way, too.
But nope. Car bomb.
Wow.

I’m so happy someone else likes Nyssa! She’s so underappreciated, probably because she only existed for, like, five minutes.
The trade “Death and the Maidens” was her very first appearance and tells her entire backstory (obligatory trigger warning: DatM does contain suggested rape and some graphic torture scenes). After that, she only appeared in a couple of other things (collected in Batgirl: Destruction’s Daughter, which features an unfortunately funny moment in which Cassandra Cain punches her). She appears for ONE PAGE in Robin #148, just long enough to die. Her death comes out of nowhere and serves no purpose whatsoever. I suspect that DC just wanted her out of the way because they were about to start doing the Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul arc.
Definitely start with DatM. Just be warned (in addition to the triggery stuff) that the art is really, really awkward in places. In some panels it’s rather pretty, but in others it looks awful. Having seen some of the pencilled pages, I’m inclined to think that the bad stuff happened during inking.
I so wish they would bring her back. Her relationship with Talia had so much potential for both characters, and she was just a BAMF.
