I can’t decide how to answer this one, really — favorite costume for Batman himself? Or favorite costume in Batman’s universe? Let’s do ‘em all.
For Batman himself, I’m partial to Jim Lee’s pre-New 52 design.
The ears have a nice point but aren’t too exaggerated. Bruce’s macho-fantasy musculature is clearly visible beneath the suit, and the utility belt looks like it can actually hold stuff. The external underwear is kind of ridiculous in terms of realism, but in terms of art, it creates a nice contrast against the rest of the suit, something without which the suit can easily look boring. And Jim Lee makes the cape look truly dramatic (see: that flare above).
Admittedly, I also quite like the costume designs in Nolan’s films. The batsuit being a skin-tight, almost leotard-like fabric works in the comics, but the live action translation requires something much hardier. The films’ brief discussions of the need for mobility and protection were actually highlights for me. And come on, look at that plating —
Favorite Batfamily costume a whole: Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl suit. Batgirl has never been exactly dark or serious, but damn if Cass’s suit didn’t make her look intimidating:
